What happens if the appraisal differs from the purchase price?

If the appraisal is lower than the purchase price, we may give you a mortgage loan based on the appraisal value. Conversely, if the purchase price is lower, we will use the purchase price as a reference. In short, we take the lower of the official appraisal and the purchase price as the value of the property.
