How many times do I have to go to the notary?

There are usually two visits to the notary: 

  1. Preliminary meeting: this is where the contents of the mortgage are explained to you and the notary checks that everything is correct before the final signing. 
  2. Signing the deeds: on this second visit, you sign the loan and mortgage instrument and the notary certifies the agreement.
