Challenge 5: Economy and scarcity

Contexto

After the economic crisis of 2008-2011, many countries were left on the brink of bankruptcy, with very weak economies and high unemployment rates. It was in this context in 2010, thanks to the publication of the book What's mine is yours: The rise of Collaborative Consumption, the model of the collaborative economy began to position itself as a transversal and innovative model. Technological platforms provided access to underutilised assets, thereby generating new business opportunities. These options are not only cheaper than traditional methods of trade, but they also represent a new level of efficiency. Furthermore, it also facilitates contact with local people, living new experiences and enjoying experiences without depending on conventional services.

  • A very consumerist and individualistic consciousness.

  • Share transportation
  • Exchange knowledge.
  • Creation of new communities.
  • New forms of energy efficiency.
